Moonkin Mount – Dreaming in Text

if you want to ride as a moonkin, and have unlocked the netherwing daily quests, it is very possible.
just go to dragonmaw fotress, wait for it to change you into an orc, go moonkin (notice how you are still an orc) then simply get on the mount of your choice and ride away.
there are a few to this “bug” and they are: if you already unlocked your drake, you will be a moonkin but on the ugly small purple drakes, also you may have to try repeatedly to get it to work. (i believe the bug happens with server lag) but nonetheless i have got this to work on any mount i have laying around, its just a long flight back to shat if you want to show it off. just dont dismount or its game over.
and for the haters and rule nazis i HAVE checked with a gm and they dont cry too much about this, as it does not affect gameplay/give you any unfair only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything – Tyler Durden

So I recently hit 68 and am loving my flying form to death but I had another thought that was just to tantalizing to keep in my brain. I would really love to have a mount that I can ride with my Moonkin! Maybe even a current mount that would be able to carry our big Owl/Bear butts would be cool; The Drenai Elephants (Elekk?) would be big enough for sure. Even if I had to gain rep with a faction to exhalted I wouldnt mind. I know we would loose some individuality on our riding mounts since all NE and Tauren moonkins look alike, but with our crow forms we all look identical anyways so I am sure this is not an issue. Basically I am not too lazy to click on the Moonkin button after dis-mounting but I would really think it was cool to be a Moonkin while riding. I can just envision a bunch of Antlers coming over the horizon in a stampede of Elekks. I guess this may make it a bit unfair since we get such a good bonus in armor from Moonkin form and running through piles of MOBS wouldn’t make much of a dent in our health and neither would jumping off cliffs.
Does any one else think this would be fun? Anyone think it would be a total waste of their time?

giving advice

My tree is my main character, but lately I’ve been gearing up my hunter too. While doing these runs, I’ve sometimes grouped with other resto druids. I can’t help but watch them and see how they’re doing.
Usually I’m dying to start giving advice.
I don’t want to tell people how to play, but it’s hard when I see someone struggling to heal a fight I know I could handle with relative ease. When this happens, first I check their gear. If they’re in a lot of blues and some greens, I shrug it off and figure they’re working on it. I also look at recount. My two main spells are Lifebloom and Rejuv. LB alone counts for 45-55 of my healing in almost all cases. I ran UK with a decently geared tree last week who was struggling to keep up. Her top spell was Regrowth.
I’ve never tried a healing style other than my own. Rejuv, LB stack, Regrowth (if needed) on the tank as he’s running in, then sit back and watch out for part/raid damage while keeping the tank’s hots up. I’m starting to work in Nourish as a quick tank pick-me-up. This works very very well for me. Is this an optimal approach or is relying on the bigger direct heals just as valid?
Is it ever appropriate to take someone aside and say “I know what you could be doing to make life easier on yourself,” or something to that effect?-Be who you are and say what you feel, for those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.

I just dinged 80 with my druid (took a few months break when 3.0 went out). I leveled balance and I had in mind I wanted to be resto after I hit 80. I hit 80 saturday and I noticed that we have too much healers in the guild and not enough dps (go figure!).
I don’t feel like going back to feral, so I’m either planning on going healer anyway or simply continue moonkin. While leveling I really loved the feeling of playing that chicken.
Now, I took a peek at some “gear guide pre-raid” and I won’t ask questions about that. But I didn’t find the answer to my question. How do I know I am heroic ready ?
As a healer, I have almost 1400 healing bonus, with enough mana regen to give my innervate away, (which I guess isn’t much) but I healed heroic VH without problem and HOL/HOS tend to get boring since I can keep everyone alive pretty easily. Someone told me, as healer, under 1500 sp heroics are not good.
As a moonkin, I did h-hos and h-nexus and my dps sucks. I leveled in my t4 healing gear and the only replacement that worth it I found was in Icecrown where I dinged 80. I have less than 20 crit (my gear sucks, I know ).
So, I just want a quick answer, what numbers should I aim for to be heroic ready ? As healer and as dps.

ArP nerf in 3.2.2

In fact, this was really the point. Several melee specs (and Marksman hunters) had begun to focus on armor pen at the expense of all other stats. Gear without armor pen was being passed over and gem sockets were increasingly being filled with just this one stat. While every spec has stats that are more valuable than others, this one felt like it was starting to trump everything. Not coincidentally, characters stacking lots of armor pen were starting to do more damage than their peers and more damage than we were comfortable with.
This change is largely for PvE reasons, though we won’t cry at all if melee damage in PvP drops a little as a result.
We’re letting you know now so that this doesn’t feel like a stealth nerf, assuming it goes live. While you might disagree or be frustrated by the change (though I also suspect it won’t come as a surprise to many players), we ask that you try and keep your response to something appropriate for these forums.

Should I be topping damage meters?

I can’t speak for other bears, but it’s not unusual to pull 2k+ in my t8 set. That can be enough to be ahead of a DPS or two, depending on the group. But I don’t really tank often, so I couldn’t really say.
As a side question though, wasn’t recount bugged on cross-server DPS or something? I thought I’d heard it was… if so did it ever get fixed? shrugs-NO. You will NOT break the $& shackle! – Jilea

One thing that I’ve been noticing a lot though when peeps flash the DPS meters – I’ve been ranking 2nd place mostly and 3rd more often then 4th.
Now sometimes the reason is pretty obvious – the DPS are all fresh 80s with no gear and/or leveling builds – fair enough – someone in all low 200 stuff with a smattering of 240+ is going to slaughter guys who’s best item is only 200. But there’s also been a fair number of times where the DPS are just as well or better equipped then me and that’s what really makes me wonder…-OK, yeah, maybe us druids are a tad overpowered

I really screwed up please HELP!

I believe any of the taming/training quests can be found at hunter trainers. You get different objectives for the taming quests though.
And I’m not sure about the training quests but since the objective is to go to the capitol and speak to the trainer there it’s would be kinda stupid if you could also get the quest there.
If that’s the case you should go to the lvl ??-12 zone and speak to the trainer there. He’ll give you the quest for sure. And then it’s just to go to Utarius – 80 Warrior
Tyradar – 80 Hunter
Vardos – 80 Paladin
Daedros – 80 Deathknight
Gardon – 80 Druid
Gorgathar – 78 Shaman
Drana – 74 Priest
Xyrana – 73 Warlock

Imp. hunter’s mark

Efficiency is better, yes, but then you do get loose points further down the road. If you really want Aimed Shot for Mortal Shots later, you have another 4 points to spend in rows 1-3 first. Go For the Throat + Rapid Killing is a popular choice, but it doesn’t have to be that. There are times when you might prefer the melee AP bonus, especially for a Beast Master. (Maybe not vs. GFTT, but as opposed to RK at least.) If you go deeper into marks, after Mortal Shots, you put 1 into Scatter Shot, and then…? 4 more points, and you may or may not want Barrage, but it’s unlikely you want Concussive Barrage, so there’s more points that could go to Imp HM.-Arcazua, 70 hunter of Dark Legacy, Lightbringer

Send me your site feedbackI actually think in solo it does pretty good for 2 reasons:
1. Your pet now gets a huge bonus to AP – the slight bonus from your RAP you get, and then the bonus to AP from the mark itself. It basically doubles the effectiveness of hunter’s mark to use this, as the same DPS bonus will be added to your pet (i.e. 45 RAP translates into like 3.2 DPS for you, and adds 10 MAP to your pet for about 0.7 DPS. Imp Hunter’s mark would add the 45 AP to your pet, so you’d get an additional 3.2 DPS. Instead of 3.9 total, it would add 7.1 total DPS).-comma long-slash comma comma asterick underscore asterick comma comma long-slash commaIt is for the group. no high-end hunter capes?

There are in fact several upgrades. If you are still sporting that cape, you haven’t done much in the way of Outlands quests. In Hellfire Peninsula I can recall two capes. One is a boss drop, and another is an instance questreward if I recall correctly. And then it is a steady run up to 70, where you have a few options available to you. Just keep an eye on the AH, and once you are into heavily farming Heroic badges, there is another vendor option in Shattrah.

I got to the back slot, and since I’m still sporting my lvl 40 Cape o’ the Monkey (at lvl 63) I thought there would be a plethora of options to choose from.

Pet for leveling

I don’t like birds, aoe screech sucks. I suggest a ravager. You can get one starting at lvl 10 in the Draeni lowbie area. Great DPS, not shabby armor. They know gouge, and bite if I remember. They can learn growl and dash. I’ve had mine since lvl 14 and I’m lvl 70 now. Stargate WorldsA pet with screech ability is arguably best solo pve pet. Owl/Bat I prefer Owl, did amazing when I was lvling, like extra taunt and aoe taunt, so if mob added and screech was alone enough for mobs to stay glued to pet even though I was healing it and even could multi shot later without pulling agro, that ae taunt is amazing for solo, mob added on you, np. no need to switch pet, just run by it and it will pull it off automatically with screech, etc. At lower lvls up untill Steady shot at 62 I could easily leave growl off and it still was enough for mob to stay on the pet with me dpsing, not just autos but multi and arcane from time to time. Screech is a nice focus dump, and there is no real need to have claw on, but still claw is useful to have since there are few instances where having screech is not desired.

RogueWhich of pet should I use to level from 10-70 as BM spec?
Class choice :-
1. Balance
2. Offensive
3. Defensive
I am hoping my pet can take around 4-5 mobs (same level or 1-2 level lower) without dyeing, in which I manage to kill 6 mobs using Balance pet (wolf). I enjoy high dps, but not sure if sacrify armor for higher dps will affect her performance..
